Taking this humanities course was eye opening to me. Out of all of the general education requirements, this class was up there as far as being one of my favorites. I found the entire course to be intriguing, especially the fundamentals of religious belief section. I learned that what I tell people I believe in, is in fact part of a religion. I was baptized Catholic when I was 12 but now that I am older, I don't necessarily believe in a God, I believe in karma. The Hindu religion also believes in karma, and the life they live is based off of the karma from previous lives. So I kind of have a connection with a religion I knew absolutely nothing about. My favorite section that we learned about in the course was the MissRepresentation module, talking about feminism. I knew what feminism was, but had no idea that it was just he generalized idea of everyone having equal rights. I chose to relate my civic engagement activity to the feminist things I have learned about in this module.
